In this particular artwork, a calligraphy artist will be appointed to script the menu on a giant dish. This art piece was jointly completed by Mr. Benson Lau and Ms. Lai See Wong in the Winter of 2021. The official script from the dynasty of Han were applied to showcase the classical elegancy on the name of the dishes while contents of the dishes were presented thru the cursive script and official script to portray the unique fluency of Chinese Calligraphy. It takes years of practice and cultivation to master these scripts and achieve perfection. The three panels of porcelain were made in the porcelain capital of the world – Jingdezhen, China. Using the imperial porcelain, which was once only used for the royal family of China. Jingdezhen masters would hand -rolled every inch of this exquisite material into a big, thin and translucent panel which then were fired up to 1320 degrees.
