About

The 18-month Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Scheme (GBA YES) aims to encourage and support young talents in pursuing their careers across the Greater Bay Area. We are honored to partner with the Hong Kong SAR Government in offering 18-month full-time opportunities to graduates from 2022 to 2024. These opportunities provide a range of regional exposures at strategic locations of Hang Seng Bank across the Greater Bay Area.

Work location

Hong Kong, with a minimum of 12 months in GBA cities such as Shenzhen and Guangzhou

Duration

18-month full-time employment, with joining date on or before 31 December 2024

Programme overview

  • 2022 – 2024 graduates with bachelor’s degrees or above from universities locally or outside Hong Kong and lawfully employable in Hong Kong are eligible for the scheme
  • Able to communicate effectively, embrace change and overcome challenges, while maintaining a positive attitude under challenging situations, and open-minded to working with people from diverse cultures
  • Able to bring divergent ideas to create new and innovative solutions
  • Strong desire to learn and able to work in an agile environment
  • Advocate of openness, teamwork and integrity
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese
  • Good knowledge of business software such as MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint as well as Chinese Word Processing

About

The Youth Placement Programme (“YP Programme”) enables graduates to acquire professional knowledge and experience in banking and provides a head start for graduates to pursue a career in the banking industry.

Principal responsibilities
  • Provide quality service through efficient and customer-friendly counter transactions
  • Support excellent service delivery and ensure first-class customer experience
  • Deliver quality banking services and solutions by understanding customer needs and making appropriate referrals
  • Support branch operations and services and adhere to relevant guidelines and procedures
  • Promote e-service registration, improve penetration, and deliver multi-channel engagement
  • Be a change agent to drive transformation of our business and servicing model 
Requirements
  • Associate degree / Higher diploma holder; or HKCEE / HKDSE (with at least 5 subjects at Grade E / Level 2 / "Attained" or above including Chinese, English and Mathematics) plus work experience; or less academically qualified candidates with relevant work experience will also be considered
  • Strong service orientation with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, attentive to detail, eager to learn with positive attitude
  • High level of customer centricity with change mindset to cope with the ongoing business transformation
  • Proficient in both English and Chinese, with ability to communicate in Putonghua is an advantage
  • Dedicate to deliver exceptional quality services for customers 
Principal responsibilities
  • Provide quality customer service to retail customers in our branch network
  • Proactively identify customer needs and offer appropriate banking services and solutions
  • Participate in promotional campaigns to acquire new business and strengthen customer loyalty
  • Maintain awareness of operational risks and adhere to relevant policies and guidelines
Requirements
  • University degree or Associate degree holders; or HKCEE/ HKDSE holders with at least 1 year of working experience, preferably in financial institution
  • Relevant professional qualification in insurance and investment is an advantage
  • Strong service and sales orientation, self-motivated with good communication skills
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua an advantage
  • High level of customer centricity mindset with dedication to deliver exceptional quality services to customers
  • Ability to manage complex interactions effectively
  • Demonstrate strong situational awareness, strong desire to learn and able to work in an agile environment
Principal responsibilities
  • Manage queue and provide customer services in bank hall, through efficient and customer-friendly services
  • Proactively identify and digitise banking services and solutions to strengthen digital customer services and experiences
  • React proactively to customers' requests and ensure service level is in line with bank standards
  • Handle customers' issues and escalate when appropriate according to supervisor's guidance
  • Assist branch in achieving sales targets through referrals or cross-selling
  • Provide non-cash transaction, support branch administration and operational duties and adhere to control procedures and internal guidelines
Requirements
  • University degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science or a related discipline is preferable. Fresh graduates are welcome
  • For non-degree holders, minimum 1 year of work experience preferably in customer-facing role
  • Keen interest in latest mobile and web technologies and trends
  • High level of customer centricity mindset with dedication to deliver exceptional quality services for customers
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua would be an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
