Pay with Hang Seng offers an unparalleled online payment experience to all Hang Seng Hong Kong Dollar Current or Savings account holders. With as simple as 3 taps, the "Pay with Hang Seng" button will redirect you from the online merchant checkout page to Hang Seng Personal Banking mobile app installed on your mobile device for payment.

Once you are redirected to our app, you will be asked to authenticate the transaction using two factor authentication (2FA). Then select the bank account that you wish to debit from. After the payment is completed, the transaction will be reflected on your app’s transaction history. You will also receive an instant SMS or email notification from us to ensure payment security.

General

The Pay with Hang Seng button will redirect you from the online merchant checkout page to Hang Seng Mobile App for an instant payment transfer. You simply have to select your Hang Seng HKD Current or Savings account to complete the transaction.

Pay with Hang Seng is free of charge.

It currently supports Hong Kong Dollars (HKD) only.

Eligibility

You can enjoy the services if you:

  • Have downloaded Hang Seng Mobile App and have activated Mobile Security Key and/or biometric authentication (i.e. fingerprint or Face ID) to log on;
  • Are a Hang Seng bank account holder of the following account types in HKD currency:
    • Prestige banking account
    • Preferred banking account
    • Green banking account
    • Integrated account
    • Statement savings account
    • Standalone current account
    • Passbook savings account
  • And have a valid mobile number record in the Bank

No, Pay with Hang Seng is only available for use within Hong Kong.

Payment

If the payment is unsuccessful, please check if your Hang Seng bank account is debited and contact the online merchant. You may also check if the selected account is still active or you can contact us at (852) 2822 0228 for enquiry

Most payment transactions should be instant. Please log on to Hang Seng Mobile App and go to Account Overview to check your transaction records.

The payment amount is fixed by the merchant and cannot be changed via Pay with Hang Seng.

Yes, you'll receive an instant SMS and/or an email for a successful payment.

Once you have completed the payment request instruction on Hang Seng Mobile App, you will be redirected to an acknowledgement page on the online merchant’s app. The payment status will be shown on that page.

Once the instruction is placed and processed, you are not able to reverse or cancel the instruction. Before confirming a payment to a third party in Hong Kong, you are advised to verify the account number / account holder name of the payee carefully to avoid mis-transfer of fund.

All refund requests will be handled by the merchant(s), Hang Seng Bank shall have no liability or responsibility on the merchant(s)' refund policies.

Limits

Your remaining maximum daily limit of small value transfer will be displayed on the Account Selection page via Pay with Hang Seng.

Small value daily transfer limit can be activated and updated on Hang Seng Personal e-Banking (Desktop version). Please go to Transfer & Pay"> Limit / Payee Settings" > "Limit Maintenance"> "Small value transfer".

Small value daily transfer limit can also be activated and updated in “Transfer & Pay” > “Settings” (at top right corner) > “Set transfer and payment limits” on Hang Seng Mobile App.

Please note that Mobile Security Key / Security Device and valid mobile number record are required for raising the transfer limit and the instruction shall be effective immediately.

Yes. Pay with Hang Seng transactions are currently limited by the small value limit of not exceeding HKD10,000 per day. If you have set the small value limit to be less than HKD10,000 per day, then your transaction limit will be equivalent to the set amount.

Security and Privacy

You can authenticate the payment by inputting your Mobile Security Key Password or by using biometric authentication.

To keep your online banking log on safe, if you have entered incorrect password for too many times, you must enter your date of birth as an additional security measure.

You may log on to Hang Seng Mobile App, go to the left menu and select "Settings", then click "Security-related" and "Mobile Security Key / Biometric Authentication".

If you have forgotten your Mobile Security Key password, please press "Forgot Mobile Security Key Password?" on the log on page via Hang Seng Mobile App and then follow the on-screen instructions to reset your Mobile Security Key password. For enquiry, please call our hotline at (852)2822 0228.

Pay with Hang Seng will automatically log out once you are redirected back to the online merchant’s acknowledgement page.
