Fund Trading

The minimum fund investment amount is HKD 1 or its equivalent.

For orders received:

  • Before the cut-off time of a fund, it will be processed by us on the same day.
  • After the cut-off time, it will be processed in the next working day.
Please note that the order processing day may not be the fund's dealing day, depending on the fund's dealing frequency and whether it's a holiday in the relevant market etc. Please also note that the cut-off time set by the Bank may be earlier than that set by the fund manager of the relevant fund; and different cut-off time may be set in respect of applications through the Bank's different dealing channels.

Yes, you may still make the relevant fund subscription and redemption, but on this occasion, your order will be processed in the next business day no matter the orders are received by us before or after the originally scheduled cut-off time of the relevant funds on that day. It depends on the arrangement we have with the relevant fund houses. The next business day may also become a non-dealing day of the relevant funds and you should refer to the offering documents of the relevant funds for details.

After you placed an order and we have received your instruction, there will be a reference number on the Acknowledgement Page. You can use this reference number to check the order status in the "Order Status" page. You will also get a SMS notification once your order has been executed.

You can make enquiries on your "Order Status" for up to 60 calendar days.

Normally, we deduct the investment amount from your chosen account within the same business day when we process your order. Therefore, please ensure you have sufficient balance in your account.

It normally takes a few working days to have the unit holding reflected for buying funds and deposit the selling proceeds into your chosen account for selling funds. The actual time required for completing the buying and selling processes varies from fund to fund.

Only specific funds are available for subscription with this account. If you would like to look for other fund choices, you may visit “Investment Funds” under the “Investment” section on the Hang Seng Personal Banking mobile app for more information.

Profit/ Loss

In respect of a fund, "Average Unit Price" means the average unit price at which the Ledger Holding Unit in the fund were acquired including but not limited to by way of buying, transfer-in, and/or merge-in. The relevant stamp duty and the relevant monthly account fee and account administration fee (if any) have not been taken into account.

Please note that the "Average Unit Price" is an estimated figure and for reference only.

Illustrative example

  1. 3 January

Buying 300 units of Fund A with HKD 10 per unit. Transaction Amount = HKD 3,000
    After Transaction,
Ledger Holding Unit (Units) = 300

    Average Unit Price = HKD 3,000 / 300 units = HKD 10

  2. 15 January

Buying 500 units of Fund A with HKD 9 per unit. Transaction Amount = HKD 4,500
    After Transaction,
    Ledger Holding Unit (Units) = 300 + 500 = 800

    Average Unit Price = (HKD 3,000 + HKD 4,500) / 800 units = HKD 9.375

  3. 26 January

Selling 350 units of Fund A with HKD 9.5 per unit. Transaction Amount = HKD 3,325
    After Transaction,
    Ledger Holding Unit (Units) = 800 – 350 = 450

Average Unit Price = unchanged (i.e. HKD 9.375)

  4. 30 January

Selling 300 units of Fund A with HKD 10 per unit. Transaction Amount = HKD 3,000
    After Transaction,
    Ledger Holding Unit (Units) = 450 – 300 = 150

Average Unit Price = unchanged (i.e. HKD 9.375)
