Frequently Asked Questions

Travel insurance is designed for people going abroad on business trips. The coverage provided by travel insurance is quite different from coverage offered under life or employees’ compensation insurance plans.

Clients should call our Customer Service hotline to get an amendment form and return the completed form together with the copy of its Business Registration Certificate / Certificate of Incorporation and the following information to us:

  • the name of the Insured Person(s), his/her date of birth and copy of his/her identification document
  • the effective date of the change(s)
  • policy number

The Policyholder may change the list of Insured Person at any time, subject to a handling fee of HKD100 per name changed for each time.

The Policyholder may also add new Insured Person(s) during the period of insurance. The premium payable for each extra Insured Person named will be calculated on a daily pro-rata basis, subject to a minimum premium of HKD100.

The premium amount will be determined by the information as at the policy effective date or at the renewal date.

The age of the insured, spouse or parents must be between 18 and 74 (at the policy start date), while the age of the children must be under 18.

The period of insurance for annual cover is one year. Under annual cover, the maximum cover period for each journey is up to 60 days. There is no limit on the number of journeys that can be taken during the covered year.

Travel warnings issued by the World Health Organization against a certain country or region will have no bearing upon the protection provided by this plan. However, it is suggested that the Insured Person should closely observe the development of the relevant situation as the orders promulgated subsequently by the government may affect the insured's journey and the protection under this plan.

If he/she needs assistance during his/her trip, he/she should call our 24-Hour Worldwide Emergency Assistance Hotline on (852)2862 0183.
